I like them, I guess? I enjoy Matt/Maxie purely by virtue of the characters being played by JC and KS but tbh, I haven’t paid GH any attention since they decided to axe Lexi Anisworth (and simultaneously crush my Ethan/Kristina shaped dreams) and then Kirsten got sick and I reeeeeeeally do not care to watch Matt and Temp-Maxie.

I think if it wasn’t Jason Cook and Kirsten Storms I probably wouldn’t care about the relationship at all. The writers are clearly not invested in them - the premise/build up/follow through isn’t particularly great and I’m not sure what’s happening with them now but I have a feeling it’s not good! For me, what JC and KS are really really really amazing at are those light-hearted, natural scenes and they had A LOT of them when they played Shawn and Belle (who were completely, obessively in love with each other and said things like ‘I only want to be with you for as long as I live’ 5 times a day) and Matt/Maxie are never going to get to that point, IMO. Also on Days of our Lives, the writers cared about both Shawn and Belle as individuals (because they were important legacy characters) and were hugely invested in their relationship. Whereas the same really can’t be said for GH - I mean, Matt is pretty expendable isn’t he?

Word vomit BUT: I am mostly indifferent to them because the writing sucks - however I also love them just because it’s Jason Cook and Kirsten Storms and I want them to act in everything together :D
